Everyone always asks…how much does Keara skate? My response is always the same…..ALOT!
Here is just a glimpse into how much time she works ON and OFF the ice.
Everyday she does off-ice training at home (she’s home-schooled) whether it’s working on her spinner, practicing her jumps, stretching, etc.
Currently she’s working on and off-ice doing a 5 week axel challenge per her coaches. Her goal is to land an axel within the next 5 weeks! Here is a video to give you an idea of her off-ice axel.
Idea of her current schedule:
Mondays: Off-Ice Only
Tuesday: Off-Ice and 1.5 hours at the rink (4pm-6:45) which includes 2 private lessons ( Main coach and a specialty coach that works on her jumps and spins).
Wednesday: Off-ice at home, 1 hour at the rink (7-8pm) which includes private coaching.
Thursday: Off-ice at home, than 1.5 hours at the rink (3:15-4:45) with 1-2 private lessons ( Main Coach and specialty coach that works on her choreography).
Friday: 6am-8am ice time at a different rink
Sat: 45 min at the rink (10:15-11a)
Sunday: 1.5 hours at the rink (1:45-3:15) along with private coaching.
