On February 28th Keara landed numerous BIG, Beautiful, perfect Double Salchows. After that her coaches asked her to do it with the arm up feature. SHE DID IT!!! It looked awesome! Below are both videos. #hardwork #doublesalchow #proudparents #usfigureskating
Her coach posted this on his Facebook page.
This morning my girl Keara started landing “real” 2S and hitting every single one of them. Then Mandy asked her to try with the arm up feature and we can say is not too shabby for the first time! Go Keara!! So proud of you!!
Exciting day for Keara. She has been constantly landing her Double Salchow but today landed a CLEAN double loop! She came off the ice so excited with a smile ear to ear! She said she was so excited she was shaking! 💜 she said “Today is my lucky day or it could be my shirt!” Well I’m so happy I was able to witness it first hand. Of course we needed a picture to mark the day! Xoxo #Futureolympian #USfigureskating #Bestdayever
Happy Valentines Day!
Yesterday Keara had the opportunity to skate on a local news stations ice rink. We braved the cold of -1 degrees at 530am. Needless to say even though we froze it was a great experience shared with fellow skaters from Maple Grove Skate School.

Below are some highlights from our morning!
People often wonder …how does Keara skates so many hours during the day, 45 min minutes away from home and still have time for her studies? It’s simple! She doesn’t have a set 8-3pm school schedule being home schooled. For example: Keara wakes up at 5am everyday but Wednesday’s. She gets on the ice at 6am and skates till 9am. We get home around 10-10:15am. She does school work on the 45 min ride home from the rink and when we get home. Around 1pm we take a rest break where we watch a show on TV and lay down. After that it’s back at it… if it’s nice they go place outside for a few hours then it’s dinner, washing up and back to school to do math at 6:30pm. Bed at 7:30pm so we can get up and repeat the day…weekends are are a day to “catch up” if need be.
